This extension was created by XWiki labs with the support of the research project OpenPaas::NG.

This is the backend support for Realtime Applications using the Netflux API.

You probably don't want to install this directly but if you are interested in building a realtime editor, especially an editor based on ChainPad, this may provide the middleware support you need. Note that this extension makes use of the XWiki Websocket Extension which requires a firewall exception for the websocket port (the default port number is 8093) see the XWiki Websocket Extension for more information.

Netflux is a client transport API used in XWiki for realtime applications. This implementation is based on WebSocket and communications between the server and the client can be done following this protocol

This extension is used by RtWiki (versions > 1.18) and RtWysiwyg (versions > 1.16).

This extension is superseded by the Netflux Module since XWiki 13.9.
